Simon Bolivar and Latin American Revolutions


simon bolivearis knowed for freeing large spots in south america from spanish control.they were being ruled by king jospph the was french. simon was born in july 24, 1783 caraca, venezuela. . As a teenager he was sent to collage in spain. later he went to eruope then to the united states.

in both of these places he learned about the ideas of the enlightnment. this lead to a desire to gain independence for south america from spain. he was both a general and a politician. he won mant victorys.

the Enlightnment


In the second paragraph of the U.S Constitution, Thomas Jefferson wrote all people have the right to life, liberty and happiness. these ideas come from John Locke. for example, Locke said people are born with natural right such as the right to own your property, as well as the right to life and liberty. what they both wrote came from the same idea that people are born with these right

this shows that both men believed in democracy was the form of government because the people choose the government
